  • Using Zoom for Telecounseling

    USING ZOOM FOR TELECOUNSELING SESSIONS


    New Creation Counseling Center uses the Zoom video call platform for all telecounseling sessions.  

    • Zoom requires that you have the Zoom app installed on the device that you are using to make the video call.  
    • You do not need to pre-install the Zoom app.  
    • If you have never downloaded Zoom before then, when you click on the link that we send you to start your video call, Zoom will automatically prompt you to download the Zoom app on your device.  Simply click the download link that you will see on your screen.
    • If you would still like to manually install Zoom in advance of your telecounseling session, you will find instructions below on how to do this.  You can also call us at 937-667-4678, option 2 if you have any questions or need assistance.  

    How to download Zoom on your Apple Device (iOS):

    1. Tap on the Apple App Store icon on your iOS device to open.
    2. Tap on Search at the bottom right of your screen.
    3. Enter Zoom in the search text box.
    4. Select ZOOM Cloud Meetings from the available app choices, and then tap on the GET button.
    5. The install process will start.


    How to download Zoom on to your Android Device:

    1. Tap on the Google Play Store icon.
    2. In Google Play, tap on Apps.
    3. In the Play Store screen, tap on the Search icon (magnifying glass) located at the top right-hand side of the screen.
    4. Enter zoom in the search text area, and then tap ZOOM Cloud Meetings from the search results.
    5. In the next screen, tap Install.
    6. In the next screen, tap Accept. 

    How to download Zoom on to your computer

    1. Open your computer's internet browser and navigate to the Zoom website at Zoom.us.
    2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Download" in the web page's footer.
    3. On the Download Center page, click "Download" under the "Zoom Client for Meetings" section.
    4. The Zoom app will then begin downloading.

  • COVID-19 and Infectious Disease Policy

    New Creation Counseling Center will follow the latest Ohio Public Health order and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  


    Mask wearing:

    1. By default, masks are no longer required for staff or clients.  
    2. If a clinician or client are not comfortable with no masks on during a session, both must wear a mask.

    Social distancing:

    1. The chairs in the waiting room will continue to be separated by 6 feet.

    Hygiene:

    1. Hand sanitizer will be available in common areas and offices.
    2. Frequent hand washing is encouraged.

    Cleaning:

    1. Offices will continue to be cleaned regularly.
    2. Wiping chairs down after each client is no longer a requirement unless a clinician chooses to do so.

    Regarding quarantine policies for staff who have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case or who believe they may likely have been exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, New Creation Counseling Center will follow quarantine recommendations for contacts of positive cases as issued by the Miami County Public Health Department.  


    For staff who have contracted or believe they have contracted COVID-19, the agency will follow guidelines issued by the CDC.  Determinations on masking and return-to-work dates will be guided by the latest CDC information.

    OTHER COMMUNICABLE/INFECTIOUS DISEASES


    New Creation leadership team will identify, through ongoing monitoring of news outlets and notifications from local and federal health departments, infectious or communicable diseases that pose a risk to personnel and persons served at the agency.  The following procedures will apply to identified infectious disease threats, as well as to reports of any personnel or client who has an infectious/communicable disease.


    • Agency leadership will consult and follow CDC guidelines on how to best identify the presence of an infectious/communicable disease, and how to prevent identified infectious/communicable disease threat from spreading.  
    • Agency leadership will report to affected personnel/clients and to designated government entities as required by law and with the consideration of individuals’ confidentiality and protection of health information.  
    • If necessary, agency leadership will make efforts to investigate and control the spread of infectious/communicable diseases, under the guidance of the latest CDC guidelines.
